On May 20, 2026, the Kubernetes Community Days (KCD) return to Helsinki. After last year’s event at the OP headquarters sold out with 300 attendees, the conference is moving to a larger venue: the Dipoli building at Aalto University, which has a capacity for 500 people.
CLYSO will be there to participate in the technical discussions and connect with the cloud-native community.
About the Event
The Kubernetes Community Days are community-led technical conferences supported by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). Organized by the non-profit Cloud Native Finland ry, the event focuses on peer-to-peer knowledge sharing rather than sales pitches. The schedule features 30 talks across three parallel tracks, bringing together engineers, architects, and IT professionals.
Technical Session by Robert Vasek
Our software developer, Robert Vasek, will be speaking at 1:45 PM alongside Nelo-T. Wallus from SAP.
Title: Polymorphic interfaces in kcp: The three vendor problem
Summary: When building platforms, teams often need to offer services from multiple providers—such as different S3 storage options or various PostgreSQL databases. The challenge is that these providers usually have distinct APIs. If a provider changes, developers are often forced to rewrite parts of their applications to stay compatible.
In this session, Robert and Nelo will explore how to use kcp to create vendor-agnostic abstractions. They will discuss how to define resource flavors and expose services in a consistent way. The goal is to reduce architectural complexity and ensure a platform remains future-proof, even as the underlying service providers evolve.
